• Subversion through Over-Compliance

Subversion is eroding the basis of belief in the status quo.

Sometimes, fighting is the only thing you can do. Sometimes it is even the best thing you can do. Sometimes it is not. Let's see what happens when we exchange resistance with compliance. Extreme, apparently unnecessary, compliance beyond all sensible reason. Comply and honestly give in to elegantly subvert even the most adverse situation to eventually succeed in ways never imagined and otherwise thought impossible.

When drawn into a current while swimming, the only way to survive is to not fight against the water but instead to relax and go with it. Deliberately submit yourself and drown. Surrender to the overwhelming force and finally emerge on the opposite side of the current.

Force vs. force doesn't work. You're drowning. Don't resist. Give in, save your strength when fighting against a stronger opponent would only weaken and ultimately defeat you.

Enter over-compliance. No inverse rebelling, instead, over-complying as in appreciating the situation and getting the most out of an experience that you would never ever consciously choose for yourself. Make the situation almost ridiculously yours.

Do the exact opposite of anything which is expected from you. This is not about rebelling either. What this is about is reacting to great opportunities with vigor and in manners that are unconventional and apparently against conventional wisdom and common sense. Do not give in to expected behavior and psychological patterns. You will emerge greater than yourself. The unexpected action and reaction is the easiest shortcut to experiencing and benefiting from quantum leaps, those rare instances of the spoon bending for all to see. Embracing the opposites is a great way to detrain and get rid of the limitations imposed upon yourself.

Sometimes, events are forced upon us which we would never get into if it was for our own, exclusive choice. It is exactly those events and situations that we have the unique opportunity to excel in and to apply the knowledge, skills, and experience from our common world in ways we never thought about because they are beyond our common horizon.

Consider indulging in what you cannot change anyway. You can't get out of a situation? Accept it. Do not just accept it as something you have to endure but instead, accept it -- whatever it is -- as your reality and your experience. You may even go so far as enjoying it. Make the most out of it and truly drop any resistance that common sense is offering as the conventional method of reacting to what you don't want, what you didn't plan for, and what is against everything you think you stand for.

You cannot change the situation. You may or may not be able to influence and change the course of events. By excelling from within the circumstances imposed upon you, you will profoundly change the results, furthermore, you will be rewarded greatly.

How does this erode the basis of belief in the status quo, you ask? The vision of turning hopeless situations into victories not only erodes the current basis but potentially creates new, stronger bases and a better status quo.
