    This week's theme is hunted and gathered stuff, from accumulated events, procrastination and its various cures over spicy testosterone to considerations about potential spiritual disadvantages of carnivores.

    Gina over at Lifehacker found a great tool to visualize sequences of events. Check out the open-source, stand-alone Timeline and make sure to study How to create timelines. The possibilities as well as the customization options are endless, from your complete CV to diet and training logs, visualized and synchronized with related and unrelated events in your life.

    Just in case procrastination is an issue for you, ever ... here are 50 Strategies for making yourself work, my favorite being --

    Keep written goals, and revise them daily. (Production goals, not sales goals, which you can't control.) Rewriting them every day helps you focus on each one and think about what you can do at the moment to further it along.

    In other words, make yourself write and everything else will fall into place automatically. Now, your task is to combine this with Stephen King's advice in Everything you need to know about writing successfully --

    Remove every extraneous word.

    The BBC has the essential holiday phrases in a number of languages. I particularly like the idea of having the phrases on an mp3 player, just imagine being in Malta, getting out your iPod and, well ... nevermind.

    The encyclopaedia of spices is a valuable resource, try this recipe, the result is delicious and healthy --

    Za'atar spice blend: Also known as zahtar, this spice blend is predominately ground sumac, roasted sesame seeds, and green herbs, za'atar is used to flavour meats and vegetables, or mixed with olive oil and used as a marinade for olives or as a spread for pita or flatbread. The taste of a za'atar mixture can be tangy, herbal, nutty, or toasty.

    For UFC newbies, a little explanation should help your enjoyment of the event. First of all, if you are expecting kung fu action movie stunts, well, don't. Most of these guys have studied several styles of martial arts (referred to as Mixed Martial Arts, or just MMA) and almost always the UFC bouts end up on the floor with the contestants grappling for position in a jiu-jitsu style wrestling match.

    Now, you ask, what's so WOW about knocking eachother unconscious and/or lots and lots of blood? The lesson is about levels of fitness: Physical rockdom, absolute fitness is achieved and required when preparing for an unknown adversary and a broad range of potential situations to encounter and respond to.
